18th Asian Apicultural Association Conference was successfully held

The 18th AAA Conference was hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal‑By‑Products (CFNA) from 15 to 18 October in Fuzhou, China. More than 600 delegates, including apiculture researchers, university scholars, industry entrepreneurs and beekeeping practitioners from over 20 countries across Asia, Europe and America, gathered at the event. They shared the latest scientific achievements and industrial experience in apiculture, built industry‑wide consensus, and jointly promoted the high‑quality development of Asian beekeeping.

Seventy apiculture experts and young scholars delivered presentations at the conference, presenting cutting‑edge research outcomes and practical experience. During the country‑specific apiculture and market‑information sharing session, representatives from France, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia and other countries outlined the status of domestic beekeeping industries, and shared information on supply‑demand dynamics and industrial practices of bee products. Their presentations provided valuable references for cross‑border industrial matchmaking and trade‑cooperation development among participants.

In thematic industry sessions, in‑depth exchanges and discussions centred on bee health, research‑and‑innovation of bee products, pollination and agro‑ecology, standards‑testing‑and‑quality‑management for bee products, apitherapy and bee‑product applications, honey‑bee biology and multidisciplinary perspectives. Participants shared latest breakthroughs in basic theoretical research and addressed real‑world challenges in industrial implementation, exploring new pathways for scientific‑technological progress and industrial advancement in apiculture.

An apiculture‑product exhibition was also organised, showcasing new technologies and products including processed bee goods, beekeeping equipment and testing instruments. A special “Honey Bar” activity was set up at the conference, creating a platform for front‑line apiaries, beekeepers and enterprises for product tasting and communication, and facilitating production‑marketing docking.
